Crowd funding has been with us for centuries. Perhaps older than any civilization we know of. People have always come together to support each other in times of need. It goes without saying that human resource is the most important resource of all time; your network is your net worth. But what happens when someone doesn’t have a rich network? What happens to those who are born or find themselves in situations where they have little or absolutely no control over the turn of events? Am speaking of people who need support (mainly financial) but can’t afford it! Neither their immediate circle.
That is exactly where Edudharma comes in. Edudharma is a start-up in the crowd funding umbrella. They have been helping individuals and organizations raise money through online crowd funding for the past three years since their launch in 2017. Current Business, Milestones and Future Goals
In a meeting with Mr. Balaji Narayanamy, the founder and manager of Edudharma,he says that their business depends mainly on social media.
“To ensure authenticity, we update the donor with the student’s achievements, for example, or with the progress the patient is making in his or her treatment in a medical scenario. To keep the business running, we depend on commissions taken from donors. So far we have helped more than 350 students pursue their education. We are doing this with more than 50,000 donors across the world. We envision to enlarge the reach and scope of our donors to be able to support more people who are facing different challenges.”

Edudharma aims at helping heart and cancer patients, especially children with these two diseases. They have taken the first step in raising awareness and helping people understand these diseases. Mr. Balaji says that Cancer and Heart diseases are on the rise in India and the world at large. Many young children are dying of these diseases because their parents can not afford the medical expenses associated with their treatment. Our goal is to ensure that we support as many families as possible access medical care.
