Having been raised in a small town named Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, Lagan Saluja and Kamal Saluja, the founders of Decornt, noticed that businessmen in the Hotel-ware, Restaurant, Event, Catering, Wedding Decoration Industry spent a lot of time traveling to other cities to procure the necessary materials. As we all know time is a valuable asset. The time and resources that these businessmen spent on travel could better be utilized in achieving some other objective if only there could be a simpler way of getting their stock delivered to them.
“Lagan and I worked in the IT industry during the initial stage of our career, it became an organic ‘thought-provocation’ as to how we could make use of available technologies to ease the entire gamut of the ‘purchase’ experience. This is where the seed of Decornt was planted, and the start-up was established. Its aim is to bridge the gap between manufactures, Sellers, and Retailers by creating a virtual online platform for both buying and selling of Hotel ware, Restaurant, Event, Catering, Wedding Decoration, Lighting, and Electronics material.” Says Kamal
Prior to starting Decornt Lagan Saluja worked with IT giants before pursuing his entrepreneurial dream. He was also involved in establishing a call center training institute in Bengaluru and ran a talent acquisition consultancy for IT and ITeS companies. His co-founder Kamal Saluja spent five years running a chain of schools in pre-primary education in Nagpur before starting up with her husband.
Currently, the organization is composed of a 10-member-team that is spread across Operations, Product Management, Sales, Digital Marketing, and logistics.

The team has created a B2B e-commerce platform for manufactures and sellers to sell goods to retailers and other business entities which specialize in Hotel ware, Restaurant, Event, Catering, Wedding Decoration, Lighting, Electronics, Couches, Fancy, Flower materials online and provide home delivery across all districts and states of India. The company has a website ( www.decornt.com ) along with applications in Android and iOS where customers can choose from 7500+ outlets to shop online and get assured delivery with more than 25000+ pin codes in India. Plans are underway to start with Disposable, Medical, and Industrial Supply in B2B Segment soon.

Decornt last 12-month revenue is 13.8 Million (Indian currency)
Decornt is a bootstrapped start-up and has not approached any external funding since its inception. However, for future expansion and growth of the company, Lagan is eyeing the venture capital industry.
Going forward, Lagan says he is looking to amplify the customer-base across India, apart from the seller-base, and wants to promote online shopping in Decornt’s target markets, and also looking at international markets.
