Shaping the Next Generation of Innovators Through Real-World Learning

Innovation begins with curiosity, but meaningful impact comes from the ability to think critically, identify real challenges, and create solutions that matter. With this vision, the Think RAISE initiative by AIC RAISE, was designed to help students move beyond traditional learning and step into the world of entrepreneurship, creativity, and problem-solving.

Over the course of the program, participants were introduced to the foundations of entrepreneurial thinking through engaging expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and hands-on exposure to real-world innovation ecosystems. The initiative created an environment where students could explore ideas freely, refine their perspectives, and understand what it truly takes to build impactful ventures.

Building the Foundation: Week 1

The first week of Think RAISE focused on helping students develop the mindset required to become future innovators and changemakers. The sessions encouraged participants to look at challenges from a fresh perspective and understand how successful ideas often begin with identifying the right problem.

Dr Vivek Manoharan, Co-Founder & Strategy Lead at Bipolar Factory, led an insightful session on entrepreneurial thinking and critical decision-making. He emphasised the importance of adaptability, analytical thinking, and approaching challenges with a solutiondriven mindset. Students gained valuable insights into how entrepreneurs navigate uncertainty while making purposeful and informed decisions.

The session on entrepreneurship fundamentals and problem discovery was conducted by Ms Shanmugha Jeyashree, PD & Innovation Engineer at AIC RAISE. She highlighted how every successful startup begins with understanding real-world needs and identifying gaps that require innovative solutions. Her session encouraged students to observe everyday challenges more closely and think about how their ideas could create value.

Adding another creative dimension to the learning journey, Dr Senthilkumar Rajappan, Founder & CEO of Halcyon Ventures, introduced participants to the concepts of design thinking and storytelling. Students explored how empathy, creativity, and structured thinking can transform raw ideas into purposeful innovations. The session also demonstrated how powerful storytelling helps communicate ideas effectively and connect with audiences in a meaningful way.

Overall, Week 1 created a strong foundation for the participants by helping them build confidence, improve their perspectives, and understand the value of combining creativity with practical thinking. The sessions not only introduced students to entrepreneurial concepts but also motivated them to become curious thinkers who are ready to explore innovative solutions for real-world challenges. Nm

Moving from Ideas to Action: Week 2

While the first phase of Think RAISE focused on building the right mindset, Week 2 shifted towards transforming ideas into actionable opportunities. Participants were encouraged to validate their concepts, understand market relevance, and learn how to communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence.

Mr. L PL Angappan, Mentor, guided participants through the process of idea validation and pitch development. Students learned how to evaluate the practicality of their concepts, analyse market relevance, and communicate their vision clearly. The session provided a deeper understanding of how strong ideas can be refined into actionable opportunities through structured thinking and effective presentation.

Continuing the journey of creative innovation, Dr Senthilkumar Rajappan, Founder & CEO of Halcyon Ventures further engaged students with advanced insights into design thinking and storytelling. Participants explored how empathy-driven innovation and compelling narratives can help ideas stand out and create lasting impact.

Week 2 enabled participants to move beyond brainstorming and begin shaping their ideas into practical solutions with real-world relevance. The sessions encouraged students to think strategically, communicate effectively, and approach innovation with greater clarity and purpose.

Creating Future Innovators

The Think RAISE is more than just a learning initiative. It is a platform that empowers students to think differently, act confidently, and pursue innovation with purpose. By combining expert mentorship, collaborative learning, and practical exposure, the initiative creates an environment where students can explore their creativity while developing the skills needed to solve real-world challenges.

Through these sessions, participants are gaining not only entrepreneurial knowledge but also the confidence, clarity, and mindset required to transform ideas into impactful solutions. The initiative encourages students to become proactive learners, critical thinkers, and future leaders who can contribute meaningfully to society through innovation and problem-solving.

As Think RAISE continues its journey, students are not only learning how startups and businesses are built, but also understanding how innovation can create lasting social impact. The initiative stands as a stepping stone for aspiring innovators, equipping them with the vision, skills, and inspiration needed to shape a better and more innovative future.
