A Journey towards Sustainable Cutlery
and a Better World!
In this fast paced world, we all on the go coffees in take away cups and quick breakfast. How mindful were we in disposing the paper cups after relishing our morning coffee. Just imagine if you could eat scrumptious breakfast by eating your coffee cup. The Journey of The Eds story started when the founder witnessed heart-wrenching sight of animals eating paper cups on the road and the realization of unhealthy polythene and wax-coated paper cups, has now turned into a revolutionary concept of edible cutlery! The Edi Story (TES) is not just a brand, but a vision to bring about a behavioral change in people towards the use of sustainable cutlery, and reduce the consumption of single use cutlery.

According to research, India uses around 16 billion  paper cups in a year, and most of it ends up in landfill due to incorrect disposal. It’s a wide known fact that waste accumulated in landfill does emit harmful gases like methane which is harmful for human health and environment. The passion for coming up with a product that contributes to circular economy ;where the product does not end up in landfil, has led to the creation of TES, where hand-made cookie cups replace harmful paper cups, and disposable cutlery. The entire process involves simple food ingredients that we use in our daily life, and the products can be eaten by humans or animals, or it can biodegrade, closing the supply chain loop.

Currently, TES had one product category called Funkie. The name funkie was framed TES believes we can more FUN while eating a Cookie cup.She believes that edible cutlery can be tasty, healthy, and bio-degradable, and fun to eat.

She wants to create awareness about this revolutionary concept among the masses. Her long-term vision is to bring about a behavioral change in people towards the use of edible cutlery, she plans to tap into the market through events, schools, colleges, and corporate.

But startup life is stressful, and as it always said nature is the best healer , our sunshine’s stress buster is sitting next to nature, finding lakes, and enjoying the Journey with a smile. In addition she is always overjoyed when she volunteers for social causes to make the world a better place to live.

She said “I am grateful for the instances that led to this startup idea and taught the value of enjoying the process of whatever we do”.

She knew that TES would work when she saw a version of a prototype ready during July 2021. It took another 6 months to fine tune the product which would be a perfect market fit . She envisions to make her business operations fully sustainable to close the supply chain loop. She will know that she did it while bringing about the behavioural change in atleast 100,000 people to use edible cutlery and not disposing of paper plastic cups. She is in process of forming the TES COMMUNITY. les community will comprise of people who take an effort to relish edible cutlery and contribute to a better world .
